Supported input
Upload a .ged file using GEDCOM 5.5 or 5.5.1, up to 20 MiB. Tested encodings are UTF-8, ASCII, ANSEL, ANSI (Latin-1) and explicitly declared Windows-1252. We test those versions and encodings explicitly. GEDCOM 7, ZIP uploads, remote URLs and other genealogy database formats are unsupported. A platform export may need to be re-exported through your genealogy application in the supported format.
Page format and output
Choose A4 or US Letter. The final PDF contains searchable text, vector family diagrams, embedded fonts and page numbers. The preview is a separate document containing selected rendered pages. It never contains a hidden copy of the full edition.
Processing limits
Up to 10,000 imported people, 2,000 people in one edition, eight generations and 300 final pages. Other time, output-size and service quotas also apply. Family diagrams can add pages, particularly with large families. A book that exceeds a limit must be narrowed before payment; it is not silently truncated.
Troubleshooting a conversion
An empty file, missing format/encoding declarations, duplicate record IDs or a malformed export needs a fresh supported export. Ambiguous ANSI control bytes are rejected: re-export as UTF-8 rather than relabeling the file. A relationship cycle must be corrected in the source tree. For a long book, reduce generations or start with a narrower descendant branch. Missing photos are expected: this edition does not fetch media links.
Using the downloaded book
Save the PDF to your own storage during the download window. It is a digital edition you can read or share privately as authorized. Printer compatibility, PDF/A and accessibility certification are not claimed.
